IIRC, there is no 'modification' to be made. With a FULL magazine, pull the bolt back 'just enough' to lay a round on the shell carrier. Then slip a round in the chamber and let the bolt go home.

Newer Benelli bolts have a notch in them that prevents ghosting. I don't recall when the change was made, but I believe it was after HK stopped importing them (and Beretta took over).
I believe you can fill in the notch w/ a weld (or epoxy? -- some said, but I wouldn't try it).
This site has a little information regarding it... but not very much at all. I can't find the link I had which gave more information though.

On the bottom rear of the bolt you will see a shallow notch made with a ball end mill. Either weld up the notch, fill it in with JB weld, or dremel off the back side at a shallow angle like this pic shows. The notch should be angled opposite of the front one.

To "float" a round or "ghost" it...
Fill up tube. Partially retract bolt to rear, about 3/4 of the way back. Stick a round under the bolt and carrier pushing it down and back. Put a round in the chamber and let the bolt go forward. Be sure the bolt closes and rotates closed. 7+1+1.

Doubt it. Just take it to a local welder and tell him what you want. Cheaper and easier.
