Read this and ask the question "Isn't proctecting yourself from a possible life threating attack a "good health issue"?
Shouldn't we get a tax deduction for training and ammo?
After all, if we're not assaulted, aren't we doing our part to alleviate the burden on the health care industry?
I'm only half kidding here.
Weight Loss Programs May Be Deductible
Recognizing that obesity is a national health crisis costing
billions of dollars... the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has
ruled that weight loss and weight maintenance programs may
qualify for a tax deduction.
The IRS issued a ruling in April 2002 stating that certain
weight-loss programs may qualify as a medical deduction. The
ruling gives two examples of taxpayers who paid fees to join a
program, attended periodic meetings and purchased diet
plans/booklets.
One person was diagnosed as obese and the other with
hypertension. The costs that were not covered by medical
insurance were ruled tax deductible. For more information on
this ruling, visit the IRS Web site and search for 'Bulletin
2002-16.'
If you suffer from obesity or another weight-related medical
condition our 24/5 Complete Personal Training program may just
be what the doctor ordered! With this IRS ruling...
participation may even be tax deductible!
