Any way to make the EAA Witness trigger crisp?

The trigger on mine has two perceivable breaks right next to each other, one false the other real, which is bad for accuracy. Need one crisp break, with nothing felt before that. Any way to achieve that with the EAA Witness?

That is not typical. The Witnesses I have seen had slightly "soft" triggers but not the twostep you describe. Sounds like a toolmark across the full cock notch in the hammer. A regular trigger job by somebody who knew his way around the gun would fix that right up. But I don't know who that is.

Not sure how to modify the enagement of the disconnector on a Witness. Sounds like the edge might have a knick in it, or even some dirt on the trigger pivot pin.

I haven't stripped mine down that far, but I would imagine that the basics apply just like with any other trigger group. Light touches with a rubbing compound to smooth the edge, light stone to take out visible nicks. Nothing more or you'll errode the hardened surface to a point where you'll be right back to a junk trigger due to the softer metal under the hardened surface.

As for after market triggers, I don't think the Witness caught on quite that much. However, consult a gun smith known for good trigger jobs unless you really have a burning desire to learn for yourself.

I've done exaclty TWO trigger jobs. Both on AR's. Comparatively easy compared to the Witness.

Your milage may vary... Good luck...

EGW works on the Witness pistols. Might want to inquire with them. http://www.egw-guns.com/
