i have seen this before, but it makes me laugh really hard every time.

especially:
The Premium bullet is a monolithic gilding metal hollow point (MHP) designed for deep penetration and virtually 100% weight retention in any creature up to and including a T-Rex.

that makes me laugh out loud everytime.

I can't wait until Double Tap starts loading these to their real potential instead of the wimpy factory loads! Until then, it's just a poodle shooter. :neener:

A little off topic but my memory jogged by the 88 number. A guy at work served on the Wisconsin and swore he was on the crew of dual 88 antiaircraft guns. I asked him if it was the Bismarck? :D

He swore and I won $5 on it.

I had always heard that "fast and light" was better than "slow and heavy", so I'll stick to hunting with a laser beam.

Do I have to use a gun to launch this? Why not just throw it? Does it come with a downrange spotter?

Well DARN!

Stupid Oklahoma legislators. They limited CCW guns to .45 Caliber or less.

Does anyone know of a state where one can CCW any caliber? I'm gonna move. Can't ever have enough gun as the saying goes. ;)

Any of you older fellers out there know where Jug Johnson is these days ought to give him a holler--These boys're hornin' in on his ballistics territory!

Now I aint as old as a lot of yall but I remember Jug Johnson. If I remember right his 44 would vaporize bullets.I was a youngun when Skeeter Skelton passed on but I got all of my dads old magizines with his stories in them. Another that I have suggests that this is a good SD round. Claiming that if you have to shoot someone use a 45 because there aint a 46.

Well, back in '77, Jug come up with the .44-50 Jug, with a .50 cal necked down to .44, using a 240 gr. bullet. He was wantin' to get it to about 6000fps. Never did hear how that worked out for him but that little old light bullet he was using sure wadn't much by todays standards.

I'm working on an improved wildcat cartridge.

It's gonna be a .50BMG case necked up to hold the .823 bullet. With a compressed powder load, I expect to see velocities in the ludicrous-speed range.

Ah yes I remember that one from the Simpsons. That show has always had a subtle anti-gun bias.

You know, I've always wanted to make a DD pistol, just for the heck of it. It wouldn't even have to be that powerful. Just big enough that I could say "Yeah, it needs a tax stamp." :D :D :D

Yeah it was a line spoke by Joe Piscipo as Danny Vermin in the mob comedy "Johnny Dangerously".

Danny Vermin: I got something to stop him.
Dutch: They made it for him special. It's an eighty-eight Magnum.
Danny Vermin: It shoots through schools.
Danny Vermin: This goes through armor. And through the victim, through the wall, through a tree outside...

Funny movie if you don't take it too seriously. It also has this example of how far you can mangle the English language and still be understandable...

Roman Moroni: I would like to direct this to the distinguished members of the panel: You lousy corksuckers. You have violated my farging rights. Dis somanumbatching country was founded so that the liberties of common patriotic citizens like me could not be taken away by a bunch of fargin iceholes... like yourselves.

Calculated recoil in our 5.25 pound test pistol amounts to only 92.9 ft. lbs. for the Standard (1280 fps) load and a somewhat more interesting 125.6 ft. lbs. for the Premium (1610 fps) load. We feel that any experienced handgunner with hair on his or her chest should be able to handle that level of recoil energy without complaint. After all, recoil is what puts the kick in shooting!

LOL

Sounds like a few people on this forum, when a new shooter asks about the recoil of the .338 Win Mag, which he has decided to get for rabbit hunting.

I'm getting started in reloading, and I have a few questions about this cartridge.

How many pounds of powder does it hold? Or should I just seat a bullet into a new jug of powder?

I'd like to be able to chronograph some of my test rounds, but I doubt they'd fit through the sky-screens. I suppose I could contact the local seismograph office and ask for data from the time of the shot, when the recoil registered, to the time of impact downrange, when the Good Canyon was formed.

I'd like to cast my own bullets. Where should I mine for lead ore?
