Looking for any info an 6 shot, top break .32 S&W revolver marked 'Secret Service Special'. No manufacturer ID visible. Has Micarta grips with red, white & blue shield on each side. Appearance very similar to H&R and S&W revolvers.

Both Iver Johnson & Howard Arms made "Secret Service Special" revolvers, but the Howard Arms ones should be marked as such on the top of a barrel rib. On the Iver Johnsons I've seen, there's also usually a 1917 patent date on the right side of the frame, above the grip panel. HTH.

Thanks for the reply, SDC. Mentioning the patent date reminded me that this gun is so marked on the SAFETY. Guess there were suit happy lawyers back then, too. Thought this tid-bit would be an additional identifier.
