Shot one at the range the other night. Guy looked and talked fresh from the Army base. Got to talking with him. He was fresh out of the Army and straight into school. He had a PT-140. We swapped some rounds, I shot 10 .40 out of his Taurus. He shot 30 9mm out of my G19 and 5 .38s out of my 637. Was a really nice guy. Wanted some protection so he got that PT-140 a few months ago. Paid $425 for it used in Florida.

Well, for those of you have the PT-140, or I guess the 145, how do you manage that thing? It has more flip than Mary Lou Retton on speed. On the plus side, worked every time he or I pulled that trigger. Not the right piece for me. But not bad.

He liked shooting the G19. I think I've now got a nasty habit of luring people to the dark side. Wish I had the rest of my humble collection to let him shoot. Seemed like a really nice kid...I say with my whopping 27 years of age.... Wanted to learn. About holsters, follow up shots, high capacity magazine laws, everything.

Hey, these are the guys we all should befriend, encourage and nourish.

As we grow old (and less active), we must do what we can to attract new shooters to the ranks. In Washington, our sport is viewed in the context of the number of its (voting) participants.

For all its faults, the NRA has been successful in carrying our message th our elected officials, and has, to some extent, convinced them that we have some clout at the ballot box.

Sorry, I'm starting to ramble, and I apologise for being off-topic.

Seems a little high for a used Taurus PT140.

Havent shot the PT145 yet. Thats on the list after I get a Kimber.

Ummmm, I shoot a PT 145 and thought the recoil was mild. I guess it is because I generally shoot my 41 mag first. :D

There is a real estate company here in Danville VA. that uses those initials (MJRW). Would that be you? If so, I think we know each other.

I shoot the 145 as well. I also think the recoil is mild. Can't really say much for the 140.
