In addition to whatever carry gun you like along and quality holster don't forget to a high gun belt... I use Milt Spark belts but you may like other manufactures but the point remains... A high quality belt is as important as your other equipment.

Your right! A good holster and a good quality gun belt is a must. The best gun belt I found for less than $150.00 was at A.E Nelson Leather Company in Scio, Oregon. http://www.nelsonleather.com/ I had a custom made gun belt made with a piece of spring steel sown in it for approximately $55.00.

I use a pretty thick leather jobbie that I got at Nissan when I worked there briefly.
It says Nissan on it.
I didn't even buy it, my bro bought it for me; prolly paid $15.
It supports my P345 well. I cannot feel the weight of the gun with this belt.
This belt rocks.

I got my belt at Structure, a men's outfitter at the mall. It's a sort of stylish place, but this is a thick black leather belt that goes with suits and also holds up my piece. Good leather is where you find it...

I couldn't agree more. I good sturdy belt is just as important if not more so than a quality holster. Makes all the difference in comfort and ride. If you haven't got yourself a "carry specific" belt you don't know what you're missing.
Check out The Wilderness Instructors belt if you're looking for a quality casual carry belt. I use mine for both IPSC and bluejeans carry. Love it.

I like Milt Sparks and Ed Brown belts. I have one of each.

Most of mine are from Ted Blocker. Good stuff. He puts in seven holes on 3/4 inch centers.
Makes it easier to get a good fit when carrying a heavy piece.
I have one from Kramer, had him do the seven hole thing to it.

Both have a plastic stiffener between the layers of leather. Best belts I've ever owned. No sag no matter what's carried on them. Great looking too. 75.00 each and worth every penny.

I've been wearing an Aker B21 for almost 2 years now, holding up great, and they're a bargain at $35 from Galls. IYou guys that are using dept store belts really owe it to yourself to try a solid double layer "gun belt" The difference is amazing. I thought my old belt worked good, but then it got even better.

I totally agree with you all. For years I tried using a standard Macy's purchased belt as my CCW belt. I always found myself bothered by how the weight of the holster and gun would cause my pants to sag. I tried several types from 1.5 inch wide belts to 1.75 in both leather any nylon and none seemed to do a good job. I purchased a Wilderness Instructors belt and it seemed sturdy enough but not the type of belt I would wear to work.
I heard all the rumors about belts and figured, what the heck, so I placed an order for one. My quoted time was 16 weeks but I received my belt in 3 or 4 weeks! I love my Sparks belt and am darn glad that I purchased one. I wear it nearly everyday for work and play and highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. They are more expensive but the expense is worth the gain.

Gun belt! Thanks for starting the thread as this is something not stressed enough. The best, most expensive holster will not do it's intended job on a thin and wimpy department store belts.
+1 on the beltman, though I have three Bob Mernickle belts that I enjoy most every day.
