Midway has AR mags on sale right now. Stoner aluminum mags with Mil-Std followers for $9.99 and C-products stainless steel mags for $15.99.

Which is the better buy?

I dug up a post where someone said he bought Stoner mags that he really liked and especially because the follower wouldn't "torque". I thought that was a feature of magpul followers, not normal Mil-Std followers? Does Stoner produce mags w/ different followers, or what's up?

I'm sorry if the AR mag issue has been beaten to a bloody pulp, but I'm having a hard time making a decision here.

Stoner mags are made by C Products, and are aluminum bodies with a USGI green follower. They're good mags and work fine, but the C Products stainless mags are nicer in terms of build quality.

EDIT - I should mention that I have a bunch of Stoners and a handful of the C-Products 10rd stainless mags. The only downside to the stainless is that they all fit tightly in the magwell of two of my ARs, and won't drop free when empty....

I just bought 4 of the C-Products aluminum mags at $10 each, THEN I see they offer stainless mags too :banghead: Oh well, at least I have mags.

Both are excellent mags. The stainless ones come with MagPul followers standard. It is also easier to get 30rds loaded into the stainless mags because they use thinner metal and there is more room inside. Therefore easier to seat a fully loaded mag also.

I bought some of the Stoner mags earlier this year. Great mags, no problems or issues. Decent price too.

I have 10 20-round Cproducts aluminum mags, and they're all legit, though a little rough looking, because I didn't order any special finishes.
