Blue Wonder sample evaluation done!

I finally tried out that little tube of Blue Wonder, one of the very few things I have won in my life!

I tried it on one of those cheapie MAS 36's which i had previously cleaned sort-of with first, WD-40 (I know, i know...) to get the cosmoline off mostly, then brake cleaning solvent and then CLP. This left it "pretty clean" but not ready to go.

I was getting it ready to test it out and inspecting the bore and i saw a fair amount of dark spots and gunk still remaining. This is not too uncommon, as a borelight right after cleaning always gleams brightly since the still wet cleaning product still shines in the bore. But after it dries you can see more work to do.

I figured that this would be a good time to try out the Blue Wonder, so I went to work.

I used it exactly as described, except for maybe letting ti sit for 20 minutes as i was distracted doing something else to pass the time. Then i scrubbed it with a brush again per package instructions and surely noticed alot of black gunk coming out! Great!

Then I swabbed it wit a dry patch and it became dry after like 1 patch. I thought that was mighty quick so I soaked another one in brake cleaner and sure enough it came out black. I did this one more time and it was finally clean. I CLP'd the bore and it is still shiny clean.

Unfortunately, its still raining and no test of the MAS 36 has been done (yet).

But I found the BW to work great on really dirty 60-year-old bore grime, and thought i'd share!

I also won a one ounce tube of BW .... It's great stuff.
I ordered and just recieved 4 - 4 oz. tubes from cheaper than dirt.
Brownells, Natchez and Midway carry it and the price varies between 7 and 9 dollars ... CTD had it for 6 and change.

I keep all my gun cleaning stuff in a large plastic tool box, and I had an almost new tube of Blue Wonder Gun Cleaner leak all over the place. FWIW what little I did get to use, worked great.
