Gun collection poll

I was just wondering the size of the average gun collection for all y'all. I don't need to know specifics, just the number of handguns, shotguns, rifles (and "other" perhaps?) I know I ran across a guy in one forum that said his collection of shotguns was almost to 100!! I am smalltime, but was just curious. I'll start:

I took all of mine fishing with me a while back. It was foggy, the GPS was broken, and all of the metal in the guns was throwing off the compass; so I had to throw them all overboard to save my butt. I'll be damned if I can figure out the spot where I tossed them over.

It was mighty foggy.

I don't know, I have never counted, but I get asked this question all the time. Yesterday, I decided to drag out my Model 10s and shoot them a little in the next week. Well, I couldn't find one of them. So I drug out everything on the top shelf of my safe. I had all this stuff lying there and decided just for the heck of it, to count. So, I figured out that I have something like 46 handguns not counting black powder and air pistols.
Rifles and shotguns will have to wait for another day. I do know that I own over 30 various rifles that won't fit in the safe.

Handguns - only 4 (why did I sell so many, we could have lived in a cardboard box comfortably.)

Shotguns - 12 (must buy 2 next time to avoid having 13)

Rifles - 21 (but many more on the way if the BATF can figure out what they did with my new licence.)

Actually it is none of anyone's else's business but my own to know how many firearms I own. I own enough of them to do you harm if you come around trying to do me or my family harm - so be forewarned. :neener: Ok now that I got that bit of paranoia out of my system, let's see., I have about:

1 shotgun
10 Rifles
6 pistols
1 revolver
18 total personally owned,
give or take one or two I
may have forgotten

Then I also have on loan from my employer:
1 issued shotgun
1 issued sub-gun
1 issued pistol

All the best,

I may or may not have ever owned any firearms. If I did, then my recollection is that they were all with me and went overboard when I tumped my canoe in the river last year. Seriously, not too many at present ... maybe 11 or 12 centerfire rifles, 7 or 8 handguns, 3 shotguns, 3 or 4 airguns, and 6 or 7 rimfire rifles.

I know a retired fellow that at last count had 865 guns!!!

He has to sneak them into his house these days so his wife won't find out when he bought another one.

I haven't seen him for a little over a year so he is probably in the 900s now. :what:

Hundreds, yes hundres of thousands of rounds of ammunition to say the least. If his house burned down it would be like an ammunition factory going up. And yes he reloads so you can imagine all the loose powder he must have.

Believe it or not I think he keeps most of them loaded.

HAHA the last time I saw him he actually had two guns with him that he had just purchased. HAHAHAHAHA

Talk about not being able to fit all you guns in the safe....he can barely fit them all in his house.

I love the paranoid answers. I can relate to why they answer that way.

Despite all the talk I do here about all my guns, I want to confess that I have been lying. I am a poser. A fraud. The forum's biggest wannabe!

I wannabe the kind of macho man who owns guns, shoots quick, and hits what he aims at, but I don't have it in me. I'm far to mild mannered and afraid to actually shoot a gun, nevermind own one. Guns are bad, they kill people. Having them around gets your family killed. Having guns in your home invites gangbangers to break in to stel them, and then use them in crimes. Guns are heavy and ugly and smelly.

So I'm sorry about all the lies I told in here. I don't have any guns. Not one. I only have my FID cad and my LTC and C&R license because I want to give MORE money to the govenment, since they handle it so well.

The BATFE can save money by not looking at me for any guns. It would be a waste of time

I have a lot less than I would like, and a lot more than my wife would like. I had to move my gun safe to a different room and while I had my guns out I decided to take some archive photos. While they were out my daughter started counting and ran to my wife, "Daddy has ** guns". Her response was surprise, to put it nicely, but when I ran through the list with her she was pretty cool about it. Most are surplus arms and are worth much more now that what I paid for them.

:confused:Where does my Howda go HG or SG or one each for the double barrels :neener: and what about my Stoeger Uplander since I have both 28 and 20 gauge barrels is that one or two? My High Standard model GB 4 and 6 inch barrels. Are TC Contender's etc. counted by the receiver or the barrels? My 870; scoped rifle barrel, 18.5" cylinder bore, .50 cal in line BP barrel, and a 24" barrel with interchangeable chokes, is that 2 R's and 2 SG's. One could make the arguement for just counting receivers, but the 870 is soo versatile, depending on what barrel it's wearing. I could make as strong a case for it being 4 different guns.
