Can someone provide me with a clear and concise explanation as to what the differences are between the M2 and the Super Black Eagle II, both manufactured by Benelli? I know that the SBE II is quite a bit more expensive than the M2, and that the SBE II will take 3 1/2 shells(?), however, otherwise, I can't see any other significant differences. Thanks in advance, CBR

The SBE 2 has the two piece receiver where the top half is part of the barrel of the gun. The M2 uses a fixed receiver. Aside from that the differences you mentioned are about it

I bought a SBE II last fall and it has quickly become my all-time favorite firearm. It is a remarkable piece of engineering. From what I've read, the M2 is also one of the best guns on the market. If you get either, I doubt you will ever regret it.

The receivers are also drilled and tapped.
You can't go wrong with a Benelli.

Yeah, my M1 wasnt drilled&tapped but i think all new models are.
Its a pretty nice thing not having to buy a mount and what have you.
