My friend's dad has the opportunity to buy two consecutively-numbered Ruger P95 pistols, new in box with all accessories. The dealer wants $700 for both. Is it worth it?

After all, if you're going to participate in a Hong Kong Blood Opera, a matched pair of Rugers just screams style.;)

Unless Ruger P-Series pistols hold some kind of collector value that I am unaware of, I would say, what's the point?

$700 for two Ruger P95 pistols is $350 each, which is more than one should be paying for a P95. I just don't see the advantage to consecutive serial numbers on handguns that are a dime a dozen.

@350 each sounds reasonable for consecutive, that's about the price they're running at across town from here. also minus $80 for the rebate. turner is selling one for $279 after rebate (yours would be $310 after rebate) but they're not consecutive.

In my neck of the woods you see P-95’s range from $319-$379 before rebate depending on the store and blued or SS.

Sounds about right to me. I paid $275 for mine way back in "97".

The collectability of current RUger handguns probably isnt all that promising...given their saturation of the market....almost everyone has had at least one ruger autoloader in the stable at one time or another...and I dont think that consecutive #'s are going to help much...so as an investment, I dont think I would consider them.

I would go ahead and just get two of them from somewhere else for a better price, put them in a castor holster, and shoot the hell out of them:D
