My nearest, ''Laurel Sport Inc, W Pitt st, Bedford'' is good .. I get on well with the owner and have done good business ......... not the cheapest but i do like to support my local store.
Otherwise .... for sheer stock choice ..... ''Hornics Sporting Goods, Johnstown'' (on 403 outa town) ..... shoot trap and skeet with owner and his son and they have such a choice,. Again .. not cheapest but ...... so easy to spend money there!!!:D

Despite the name it sells pretty much guns and accesories. The store carries several thousand rifles and handguns in stock at all times and will get you anything you want in a jiffy. Price and trade in have always been very fair in my experience. The staff are extremely knowledgable and businesslike in their dealings with the customer. No baloney or messing around. Good shooting;)

Eeek. There are still people that go to that rathole? If you're in the Nashville area the two best stores around are Specialty Arms in Lavergne (I have a Sig P220 on layaway there now) and Franklin Guns in Franklin.

I've got to cast a third vote in favor of Franklin Gun Shop. Great selection and prices. I was in there Saturday with the better half, getting her to pick out her birthday present. She decided on a Beretta Tomcat.
I've also got to cast a third vote against Gun S***ty. Overpriced, arroant, not too bright.
ASP in Joelton is ok, but doesn't have the selection of Franklin or of Specialty Arms. Same goes for Gun Mart or Sporting Arms, both on Charlotte Pike. On Target in Murfreesboro is alright, little selection, but their range is top-notch.

In San Diego, north county, Precision Arms is the best rifle and special order store, Duncan's has the biggest selection of shotguns but not the greatest prices, and Iron Sights has the best indoor range and best handgun prices and selection.
Here in Dallas, I'm still trying to find my way around, but I can tell you to avoid Bullseye in Duncanville. Their prices were downright insulting ($650 for a Glock 17 with standard sights?), and the people that worked there are a bunch of old farts that treated me like a kid (I'm 29). Also, at their range they only allow handguns, no rifles or shotguns. They also like to talk smack about the previous owner to make themselves look better. Failed.
K2 Sports in north Dallas has been great, but they pretty much limit their scope to AR-15 rifles. As it stands now, they are my preferred store.
Arlington Arms rates a big fat 5 out of 10. Nothing offensive, but they seem to be struggling as their racks were a little bare. Decent prices, though. I guess it's just a sign of the times.
I was at Alpine today, and they have a nice outdoor range, but I get irritated at their idea of "rapid fire." If I'm planting them ALL in the black, then who cares how fast I shoot? Anyway, their prices were a tad high, but not offensive.
I stuck my head in Galyans in the Parks mall, and although I don't care for the large store atmosphere, they had good prices and a wide selection, including handguns. They are a sporting goods store, so they are a step ahead of Wally World. I love Texas! You can buy a handgun IN THE MALL!!

As far as selection...Kittery trading Post in Kittery. Their prices keep me from buying and thier attitude keeps me from talking. It's a place to LOOK since they almost always get the new models in early. Besides having a brother with a FFL is a great asset. :p

ive really been meaning to get down to franklin gun. havent been able to find exactly how you get to it tho, see it from the high way thats about it.
But ASP in Joelton has a great group of guys in there. Yea selection in case isnt all that great but it is diverse, and they can order anything. Plus range is pretty decent, and its well priced. I dont like Speciliaty cause the guys in there were rude to me a few times, and only selection they really have is Smith since they are a licensed dealer.

Get off I-65 at exit 65. Go west and you'll see a McDonalds on your right. Turn right on that street. You'll pass a car dealership that will then be on your right. Just past the car dealership (not very far, anyway) you'll turn right again and that will take you up to Franklin Guns.
Here -

You know, I've heard other people complain that someone was rude to them at Specialty Arms. I've never had that experience myself. Yeah, they do tend to push S&W and it is their largest section. As for selection, I've bought Marlin, Taurus, Ruger and soon a Sig from them, but never a Smith.

In my area there are two good gun stores. There is "Fin-Fur-and Feather" just outside of Ashland. Good sized store, not quite the size of a Cabelas Store, but spacious, clean and well stocked. The other one is "Sportsmans Den" on the north side of Shelby. Not as large as F-FandF but still plenty large enough, good selection of merchandise. Nice place.

The best I've found in my area of Michigan (Ingham, Eaton, & Jackson counties) is here in Jackson.
Schupbach's Sporting Goods
They're downtown on Pearl St.
Good selection, pretty good prices, thu Michigan prices seems high compared to what I read here.
You get farther north and Jay's Sporting Goods is the place to go.
Cabela's is ok for stuff.
As far as gun, they're ok if you're willing to pay top dollar and you don't need the staff to know anything about guns.

I have a few , Hornicks Sporting Goods in Johnstown, good selection , nice folk , no huge bargains though. About an hour and a half from Grice guns in Clearfield , now this is a toy store , every cataloged item from S&W including PC guns , Ruger , Taurus, Glock and a few others in handguns. Long guns is just absurd, they have them in double sided rows out on the sales floor (used stuff) . Something like 20,000 new guns in stock. Good prices, sometimes insane ammo deals, virtually anything for reloading, locally owned.
A note to P95carry we are fairly close here , you're around Bedford I guess and I'm up close to Ebensburg, about equidistant from Hornicks, maybe we'll cross paths some day. If you ever want to see Grices , drop me a note , a buddy and I are going up in mid -June , you're welcome to ride along, I spent Sunday in Reynoldsdale at some relatives , I really miss Terry Mickles shop out on 56 near the hatchery, he was a great guy. My vote would have to be for Hick's Trading Station in Pinckneyville, IL. Family owned business for over 40 years run by two brothers. Probably one of the best selections south of Springfield. They advertise "over 2000 guns in stock". Someday I'm going to talk them out of one of their hats that has "Hicks for Guns" printed on it.

This is the northwest Indiana area:
Rangemaster's Outfitters in Chesterton

I used to live near this area several years back. Back then I loved going to Fetla's, it had almost everything; although I heard the City of Gary went after them trying to blame their horrendous crime rate on guns and gun-dealers and they ceased selling handguns. :cuss:
I also liked Blythe's indoor shooting range, especially being able to adjust the target distance.
