Never had a dream centered on firearms. Some featured and co-starred weapons but they only had a minor role. Which is kinda weird, given that my hobby IS firearms.

When I used to play FPS (First Person Shooter) games for HOURS at a time, I had dreams that weren't necessarily about guns, but during the entire dream I'd be looking over the barrel of my M4A1 rifle.
I dont remember firing the weapon, but I distinctly remember it just being there during many dreams.

Used to get them all the time when I was a kid. They came in the form of GREAT dreams or :uhoh: nightmares. Two wonderful dreams that I still remember are: 1) finding an AK-47 with ammo while rummaging for clothes in my closet. :D I could smell the gun oil and feel the wooden furniture. 2) stumbling upon a abandoned hut with MANY :D bren guns and SMLEs hung from brackets on the walls. Inevitably, I always woke up to the light of morning wishing I really had all those guns.
Nightmares usually involved getting shot by a WWII era sten gun. :(

I had one last weekend about an IPSC match that had been cancelled the day before. I dreamed that we had the match and that I competed. I woke up before I got the results, and I don't remember if I got any "no-shoots" or procedurals.
I think I did well on the rifle match, though. :D

Don't have any. Well actually I had this really cool dream about 12 years ago where I had a laser pistol and was fighting off hordes of zombies or something, but that's the last one I remember. :D

Had one last night actually. I was just at the range shooting the .44. One of those super-realistic dreams too, kinda like the ones where you 'wake up' and get ready for work.
I have had a few "Action Movie" dreams too, but those usually come after watching movies or playing video games all night.

I occasionally dream about shooting guns I don't have.
Sometimes I'm even asleep at the time.;)

I have an occasional dream where I'm trying to fire one of my damn AKs (in self defense, home invasion dream), and I just cannot pull the trigger no matter how hard I try. I've only had a few gun dreams where my darn guns worked properly, what the heck is that about??

I have had dreams about hunting, and I shoot firearms. But only at game animals.

I have had dreams of finding guns and then firing them. I cannot remember where I found the guns, but it was not at the bottom of a river or lake or anything like that.

two that stand out in my memory:
first was many years back when i was about 13 or 14. dreamed i was running from someone down a stairwell. have no idea why or who was chasing me. but the chaser had a m16 and shot me in the back. each bullet burned as it entered my body, and i could tell where each one hit because of the burning sensation. then i woke up in a cold sweat.
second, about a year ago i dreamt i was on a train with a security detail and we were searching for the BG's we knew were on the train somewhere. we had searched everywhere with no success. i then noticed the train had an upper level (no one else had noticed it, so i radioed my team to join me up there. i went ahead (yeah, very untactical) of them and found all the BG's asleep. seven or eight of them. so i drew out my M40 and since our orders were 'shoot on sight' i proceeded to complete my task. the first couple shots hit each of their targets, but the shots had woken up the rest who either went for their weapons or tried to escape. by the time i fired my 8th shot, i realized i had no spare magazine and only had 2 rounds left with 3 or 4 BGs remaining, and my team hadnt caught up with me yet. thats all i remember from that dream.

I have dreams where I can buy any gun I want, with no 'bans' or 'controls', like the utopia this country must have been prior to 1934. But, in the end I wake up and realize that Sarah Brady, Michael Moore, Handgun Control, Inc., and the rest of their ilk still exist. Oh weel, I can still dream.

Occasionally I have a dream were someone or some animal is coming after me. I have my gun in my hand and shoot but even though I hit them it doesn't even seem to affect them, they just keep on attacking or coming after me. The recoil when I shoot is also very different. Its almost like the weight a ton and the recoil almost causes it to hit me in the head.
I don't like those dreams at all.

I dreamed I was interviewing Marolyn Manson the other day. Yikes! :what: But to keep this gun related, his buddies had fully automatic weapons that I'd never heard of (and I doubt they exist :D ) One was a "AR-75" which looked like a 1:2 scale AR-15. It was controlled by a bunch of microchips. Me, being the electrical engineer, went home (in my dream) and downloaded the plans to make my AR-75 fully automatic. It just required soldering some leads together and presto! Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp. His friends were also very good shots.
I'm not sure why Marolyn Manson was in my dreams :uhoh:

I've only had a few gun dreams where my darn guns worked properly, what the heck is that about??I don't know, but I've had those too. In one I was at a friends house and some burglar broke in and I went to rack the slide on my gun, the round jammed and for some reason I didn't have enough strength to pull it back far enough to undo the jam.
Another dream I had recently (not related to even trying to fire the weapon) was where I somehow got past the metal detectors and a pat down at the airport with my gun. When the guard was quickly patting me down I remember thinking "Oh crap, I did leave my gun on". He didn't find it though!

I distinctly remember a nightmare from a few months back where I was being attacked by a thug.
I was fortunately armed, and began shooting him. Unfortunately, shooting him had no effect at all, even though I was aiming for the head and *knew* I was hitting him.
Scary stuff.

Had a dream just a couple weeks ago that I emptied my P-32 into a BG and all it did was stagger him a bit with every shot. Luckily I woke up right after, so I never got to see if he ever went down.:D

Kcustom45 has been worrying too much about his hot .44 magnum loads.

Hey Pytron, wasn't there a 5.56 mm rifle called the AR-75 made back in the 80's? Built by Beretta, if I'm not mistaken.

I asked the local PD rangemaster about firearms dreams. Like many others on this board, many of mine involved me having to shoot in self-defense. Problem is, I usually encounter two problems or both. 1) The bullets hit the target, the target keeps on going. 2) The trigger pull is 5467 lbs and the gun never goes off. Try and try, I can't pull the trigger. The rangemaster said lots of people who carry guns have those dreams. The bad thing is it puts into your mind that the gun may not go off when you need it most, like it did in that dream. Thankfully, my Glock never has had that problem when shooting it.
I had a good one the other day. I was at work (federal prison). This inmate tried to escape. I caught him escaping and told him to stay where he was (I had no gun). I called it in on the radio and everyone came over. This guy is on his hands of knees and up walks the warden. He pulls out a .38 revolver and executes the inmate, one shot to the back of the head. I make some comment about how I wish I would have had a gun when I had found the guy (keep in mind, NO FIREARMS inside the prison. A very bad thing. Anyone with a gun is outside the perimeter fence). The warden tosses me the .38 and says here you go. I tell him, yeah you give it to me now, I am going to start carrying my Glock. Then he gets pissed and says no you will not. So I shut my mouth, he walks away, and now I have the .38 revolver (note: in my dream it was accepted practice for some reason to execute inmates who tried to escape, but were caught. In reality you can shoot them for escaping, but once they stop, you aren't supposed to shoot. There was nothing really shocking about him executing the inmate, in the dream that is). I tuck it into the wasteband of my pants (I carry my Glock 27 Mexican Carry) and go back to work. The .38 doesn't fit into my pants well and I don't like it like the Glock. Despite the warden giving me the .38 after he executed the inmate, I am now paranoid someone is going to find out that I am walking around inside the fence with a .38 in my wasteband. End of dream.
How is that for a firearms dream??? :what:

I used to have lots of dreams in which I needed a gun to defend myself but when I would try to shoot it, something was always wrong. Guns never worked in my dreams. I think that is why I am so paranoid about reliability in the guns that I think I may have to use in a life and death situation.
My home defense gun is a Beretta 92fs because it has proven to be the best made and most reliable semi-auto handgun that I have ever owned. I know revolvers are more reliable but I have 16 shots with the 92fs as opposed to 6. That is another fear, not having enough ammo when you need it.
