I still can't believe how moronic gun shop people!! It must be something the liberals are putting in the water!!!
I agree, the CZ is a nice pistol!! The grips are to big for me, however.

There seems to me an aweful lot of slamming, putdowns, negative comments towards ... others. Terms, such as 'moronic gun shop people' say to me more about the speaker, than the target. Why is such terminology needed, by those that use such ?

Could you link the thread?
Also, I don't think this belongs in this section.

at the sametime can there be anymore "this is the Highroad" threads, this is something that is started here on a weekly basis it seems like, use the search function and i am sure you will see where others have made the same post before, and i agree this isn't the correct place for this thread.

and have been campaigning a little bit on the forum requesting and encouraging people to show respect for others. We do not have to agree with the opinions of others but we should show respect. I have seen references to store employees as monkeys on two occasions and confronted the last posting person who used that term for people. My bringing it to his attention did no good I am sad to say. Anyway, I am rambling perhaps. 1+++ on what Hook686 said. Yes, this is supposed to be The High Road.

See here, 2nd post: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=9116
You guys do realize the quoted comment was made nearly three years ago, right?
On the purpose of this thread... A statement like that does tend to paint all gun shop employees in the same regard, so perhaps it would be best to be more specific or refer to a particular incident. However, I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with commenting about gun shop people who may be morons; they certainly do exist. Using 'moron' is just a more colorful way of saying someone is immensely stupid and I really don't know that it's of the Low Road, as a personal attack against someone in particular would be.

Well, the moron behind the counter told a shopper that a 38 snubbie is only good for 3-4 feet, and the guy bought the story. I let them be, stupid is as stupid does..........
This is the initial comment, made many years ago. I think "moron" may be a bit strong, but I understand the feeling. I've run into quite a few salesmen who try to convince customers that revolvers are fragile, antiquated things :D

Would it be "highroad"-ish enough to start a thread about digging up posts over two years old to rant about?
And we could have another about putting posts in the appropriate location.
And yet another about whether there IS an appropriate location for inappropriate posts...

Hook686 - you know, certain groups of people just tend to catch it around here a little more often than others. That's just a fact. However, if you can't understand someone using the word "moronic" to describe some gun salesmen, chances are you just haven't done enough gun shopping. It's just like any other business. There are those who know their stuff, and those who simply THINK they know their stuff. Here at THR, most of our members who work with guns simply know their stuff. Unfortunately, I still have to shop locally for guns, and sometimes I run into idiots behind the counter. Nothing wrong with calling it like it is.
I also agree that these "Isn't this The High Road?" threads are getting a little tired. I'm starting to wonder if you folks who think it's so bad here have ever talked anywhere else online. Most forums I've frequented, you wouldn't have even gotten an honest answer to this thread. Your replies would have consisted of probably 20 posts that read something like:
STFU N00B! :D
So far I haven't seen that here. :)
