I never heard of a military Mauser in .303.
In the 1930s they made a wide variety of actions, including some with a slanted magazine for rimmed cartridges. So there were probably some British hunters with .303 Mausers instead of Lee-Speeds.
The Pattern 1914 .303 made for the British by Remington and Winchester had a lot of Mauser design features.

I suppose I should ask then, which would be the best from a strngth point of view to convert/rebarrel to 450 alaskan?

.450 Alaskan is on .348 Win brass, about the largest head diameter rimmed case in US calibres, and is normally built on a lever action Win '86 or 71.

Maybe you could find a Siamese Mauser which was originally made in an odd rimmed 8mm and has been used for such things. Otherwise, I have little to offer.

According to "Mauser Bolt Rifles" by Ludwig Olson, 3 edition, pg. 179, CZ made a short rifle chambered for the .303 British round that was used in Great Britain for testing ammunition. The book goes on to say that these rifles were also used by Latvia & Estonia. No model is given but it looks like the CZ Model "L" carbine with an extended magazine for the rimmed rounds & no grasping groves on the forend.
Most people have never heard of them & a person would probably have a better chance of being struck by lightning than finding one. Even if one could be found, it would probably cost more than buying a new rifle in whatever caliber you want.

the 7.7mmJAP Arisaka Type 99 (japanese mauser!) round is very close to the .303 brit in size and performance, however the .303 is a rimmed round and the 7.7 is slightly longer.

similar but not the same, supposedly the 7.7 is based off the .303
