Howdy all....have a question.

I am thinking about adding yet another 1911 to the family.

I already own Colt, Kimber, and a Sprinfield Armory LOADED model.

I want a Champion, but have heard they have been troublesome.

My LOADED has been flawless, and truthfully....better-spent money than my Kimbers. Alas...I have no personal experience with the Champion, and I was wondering of any of you guys who own one have an opinion, either pro or con.

Thanks!

I have a loaded Champion, maybe 350 rounds mixed ball and varieties of HP. No problems. Just for grins, my 1990's vintage SA lightly tuned for IPSC (adjustible sights, fitted barrel and bushing, ambi safety) has about 20,000 rounds down range. Just keeps going...

No problems with my Loaded Lwt Champion. Just smooth and accurate:)

My milspec Champion has run great for it's first 400 rds. It's fairly new so I have not fired it past that round count.

I polished the feedramp when I got it, whether it needed it or not. It eats Ranger T and ball just fine

I had a loaded model that was beautiful. It was so tight that about every 6 rounds I would have a failure to go into battery. I never liked the guide rod plug contraption, it made a fantasic weapon cheap. Sold mine for Kimber TLE and never looked back.

Yeah...like I said...my daggum full size LOADED is BRILLIANTLY spent money on a 1911. I have had zero complaints with this piece, and it would be the one I'd carry if I weren't so stuck on my Glock 30.

The CHAMPION keeps calling my name....I can't seem to find a clean Colt Commander of any vintage that anyone is willing to part with, so I am thinking I am going to go on and get a Loaded Champion.

BTW...I will can the full-length guide rod like I have done on ALL my so-equipped 1911's. I have noticed zero difference in accuracy between a standard recoil spring guide and bushing, and a full-length contraption.

Yes...call me crotchety...I don't mind. I like the ease of take down with the regular set up.

Thanks all!
