I am trying to decide what to get, am looking for a smaller pistol/revolver for concealed carry, maybe some IDPA. Have thought about a Glock 19, but if I decide to carry, I would probably want something I could just "stick in my back pocket" ---the IDPA thing is a possibility, not a goal, as what is stick in the back pocket, may not be suitable for action shooting. What do you suggest, given these general parameters.....? I'm looking for ideas.
Thanks,
Dave

For pocket carry, you cant get any better than the Kel-Tec P3AT.

If you want a great all around gun that you can carry and use for competition, go with the 19. If you want something for extreme concealability, go with something like a keltec p3at. I carry a g19 sometimes and really like it as far as comfort and concealment. If you have multiple purposes for the gun you wish to buy, don't paint yourself in a box. I think you would be doing just that in buying a small pocket pistol.

For me, the G19 is concealable and would be great for competition, but it is NOT a pocket pistol. For a pocket pistol it's hard to beat a S&W J frame. I have a 638 Airweight Bodyguard, and it definitely slips into the pocket without any problem. Good luck on your search, and let us know what you finally decide on! :)

Given the options, I bought a Glock 19 today! Have had a G17, and will not only be able to carry this G19, have plenty of firepower, but also be able to shoot IDPA...I do think that for me the .38 snubbie would have been "painting myself into a corner" ----Thanks for your advice and for taking the time to give it...
Best, Merry Christmas,
Dave

You'll love it. I had a 19 and it was a great gun. Now start saving up for a P3AT for your back pocket :D

Glocks aren't my cup of tea. I've fired many of them, but I never was able to get over my dislike of the grip angle. Still though, I have nothing against them concerning the reliability or overall quality. If you've had one before and like them already then I'd say you've bought yourself a great Christmas gift. Enjoy it, and good luck with it !:)

I have the Glock 23 (.40 cousin of the G19). I love it for concealed carry, but it certainly isn't a pocket pistol. :) :)
