9mm 1911 recoil spring question...

I have a Para LDA HiCap 9 that fails to lock the slide after the last round. It only does this with my reloads(147gr. over 4.3gr. Power Pistol, these put me just over the IDPA power factor). I know these are reduced loads. I shoot them in my G34, with a 13# spring. Factory ammo, or my higher power reloads make it run just fine. It will eject the spent casings without a problem, regradless of the load.
My question is:
What is the factory spring weight of a Para LDA HiCap 9 or a 18.9? What would be a good spring to start with?

I have no idea what Para uses, but try a 12 pound recoil spring.
Remember the mainspring (hammer spring) plays an imortant role in 1911s, especially with the lighter calibers.
If your recoil spring gets too light, that can cause feed problems. Mine would even hang up on the disconnector returning to battery with the 10 pound recoil spring.
You might want to have a (slightly) reduced mainspring onhand to experiment with.

Thanks.:D
I never thought about the mainspring aspect. I'll start with the recoil spring first.

You may want to pick up a 10lb spring as well.
If the 12 doesn't do it the 10 should.

I use a 10# spring in my Trojan to cure the same problem. Factory is 14# I am told. Hope this helps.
