New knife, or look what followed me home!

So about 2 weeks ago I was in my local toy store, and the guys working introduced me to an older guy with a briefcase. Turns out it was Davie Boultinghouse, and he was in to drop off the latest batch of custom knives he had made.

Not being a spur of the moment purchaser, and since my wife was giving me the hairy eyeball signifying that she was ready to leave, I thanked the folks an excused myself.

Fast forward to today. I sauntered in to the store (still no 1911), and wandered back to the knife case. There was the knife I looked at the other day. Well, I had been thinking about that knife for about two weeks, and finally talked myself into it. So, without further ado:

The handle is a Mesquite burl with Ironwood bolsters. Now, anyone else buy themselves an early Christmas gift?

I bought myself two Jarvenpaa puukkos and a Roselli axe for Christmas. A cool $225 of Finnish carbon steel and artic birch.

Your knife is gorgeous. What is the blade made of? How much did it cost?

The blade is ATS-34, and it was just less then $200 out the door.

'Tis the season. My only present was a new tire to replace one with sidewall damage. It had less than 5000 miles on it!:cuss:

That's NICE, and the kind of sheath I prefer, too - no contraceptives.

I'm not really a knife guy but that is one handsome knife. Where did you get it?

I am also a knife nut but my early Christmas present to myself was a 3x9 scope for my favorite Ruger #1 plus a couple of Case Trapper folders.
