Tokarev or Markov, I suspect. It astounds me, but there's a Romanian military forum where you can find out for sure. http://www.worldwar2.ro/forum/

Romanians in Afghanistan.

Not much to go on,but knowing that the Romanians make a version of the Baby Eagle, the grip look similar enough in profile to hazard a guess that-that's what it is.Cugir makes a copy of the FEG P9's so those might be issued as well.I'm sure there are still plenty of PM's still around.

Not to worry.
I've e-mailed Max Popenker.
He'll know for sure!!

Edit: Here is the reply I got from Max.

From what i know, Romanians once carried a Walther-PP inspired Carpati pistol in .380, and recently switched to locally made Tanfoglio/CZ75 clone in 9x19

Ok, i'll reply here as well
Before the fall of Iron Curtain Romanian army had used Carpati pistol (a small Walther PP knock-off) in 9x17 / .380ACP (or 7,65x17 / .32ACP, not sure about it, sorry)

Now they switched to some Tanfoglio / CZ75 clone (which looks much like Israeli Jericho / Baby Eagle) in 9x19.

I am almost certain the romanian "SWAT" uses the cz2000. Very interesting pistol and extremely hard to find. http://www.enemyforces.com/firearms/cz2000.jpg
