How do you like it? Does the gun feel secure? I would like to get one for my 342pd, but first I wanted to hear from some owners. Any reviews would be great......thanks Ivan

Yep, and it is secure for my 640-1. It has a very precisely fitted thumb break, close-molded to the "slope" from the rear sight to the backstrap, and a trigger pocket deep enough to hold the guns' weight alone, but not during activity. IF you take the time to carefuly adjust the harness fit, and holster position, it is secure, comfortable and as fast as any other shoulder rig. I have mine set up so that the gun rides between the shirt pocket and armpit, with the butt just below the level of the bottom of the pocket. Wear the harness for several days, making one or twp adjustments at a time, until you are positive it is right (before you are tempted to remove any excess strap materials). If you should ever be in a situation causing you to draw surreptitiously, be prepared to tuck the gun in a pocket or under a coat tail until you can get to a place where it can be reholstered privately. It is a two handed proposition, and not something to do out on the floor of your local Wal Mart. The price is "up there", but in this case you get full value for every dime you put into it. Great rig!!

I have one for my j and one for my hi-power...great rigs and nice looking to boot...I bought the j-frame guradian years ago when I had a model 60...now with the lighter wieght of my 442 I find it's more leather than I need for such a little gun so I don't wear it much anymore..actaully, I don't wear any shoulder rigs much anymore..I find I always go back to IWB for real carry...

Walosi, is it a thumb break or a pull thru snap? I can't tell by looking at the RF Distributing web site. A friend of my has the Alessi bodyguard rig (horizontal) and it is a pull thru snap. The snap is in the center of the trigger guard, infront of the trigger. By any chance do you have a pic of your rig handy? I can't seem to find a good picture of this holster anywhere. For such a popular holster line, you would think there would be a good website where you could view pictures of their catalog....

I don't know of a site other than R&F. Lous' new site is still underconstruction, and that is on hold until he catches up on contract orders. The Guardian for my 640 has a thumbreak, and I believe that is standard for this rig. The tab lies along the slope behind the rear sight and falls to hand (or thumb :)) very naturally, when you grasp the butt and begin the draw. The Bodyguard is (or has been) offered with a choice of thumb break or pull through. Not many makers will attempt pull through snaps, and Lou is one of the few who knows how to fit and position them. I would put up a picture, but my crayon broke :( E-mail me, and maybe I can get a scan to work. It's a little WebTV scanner, so it may come in sections

Please accept my apologies, and disregard the offer to scan the holster - better wait until I get a new crayon. I tried a few versions, and this isn't the scanner for holster pics...or much of anything else, I guess.

Thats ok, don't worry about the pic. I'll probably send Mr. Alessi an e-mail and ask him some questions about the holster. Thanks...stay safe :)

mine is a pull through snap..much cleaner and faster than a thub break...
