Now what do I do with it?

I'm not a shotgunner and I don't know any shotgunners but I just bought 2 shotguns because I figured they where a good deal. I picked up 2 used police Remington 870 wingmasters, 18 and a bit barrel, 2 3/4 chamber, for $170.
1. Was this a decent price? I'm happy having a new project so if it turn out to be market I'm not heartbroken.
2. How old are they, I figured out a barrel code that says 79 and 80 but havent found anything for reciever serial numbers, they are both of the T74****V
3. They look good inside but they both need to be refinished, some thing like Wilson Combat and their Remington Steal package looks good but I've read some mixed reviews. What other companies that do a similar refurbishment?

Shoot them.
While there's about the same number of accessories for the 870 as for Barbie, you have two fine defensive shotguns rat thar as is. Use light loads until your form develops.
Great deal. Last 870 I bought was $178 out the door. Used, of course.
Call Remington at 1-800-243-9700 for the born on date.
What you have is two nearly new inside examples of the best pump gun ever made. The exterior can be refinished, painted or just lived with.
Now go wear them out, I double dare ya....

Yes, PLEASE tell us they were $170 each, because that price per gun is a deal. Two for that price is prob'ly a felony. . . .

Used police weapons are a great bargan. Most departments only fire shotguns ten times a year. Most of the wear is from gun racks and riding around in the trunk of a car for years.
