These seem to be good prices for a new one.....http://www.impactguns.com/store/ruger_black_powder.html
I should have bought a new one rather than a used one with problems.
BTW instead of shooting mine I sent it in to Ruger for repair.:uhoh:

Sounds like a good idea, maybe they will fix it for free (except shipping). :D

I sure hope so! The lady at Ruger said that timing problems ( if that's the problem ) are usually fixed at no charge. I have always heard good things about Ruger service so I am crossing my fingers!

Never heard of Bud's, but that is the best price I ever saw for a ROA, by far. I believe I'll be buying the next one from them. Thanks for the "heads up". :)

That is a good price. I got 2 of the 71/2 blued for $400 each and thought no one would be in that ballpark. I got mine from BroDave a texas dealer. Around my neck of the woods the dealers want $450 and up on blued and over $500 on stainless.
I have six ROAs now. Sometimes ROAs will have an issue with the hand. If you do not fully cock them and then let the hammer down after capping, the ones with the problem will actually lock up. Totally correctable, but it makes you wonder whats up with quality control and why are some different from others.
Sakohunter, I think Ruger will do right by you. It will no doubt be fine when you get it back. I like to use only #10 Remington caps on the standard nipples, but I know folks that swear by CCI #11, but I had problems with them, even after squeezing a bit before installing on nipples.
For a real treat, they are awesome with a convertor cylinder. I have a pair of Kirsts and you can really stoke up a 45lc cartridge if you load about a 200gr 454 bullet and use a sub called 777. Hold on. :)

HD...Thanks...My next purchase will be a C/C and I think I will go with the Kirsts instead of the R&D. I like the design of Kirsts a little better than the R&D.
