Rifle scope in carry on.............

Was just wondering if it is leagl to have a scope in carry on luggage? I know gun parts are a no no.

They say that parts are prohibited from your carry-on. I believe that it would be best to place the scope in checked bagage.

A scope has been considered a 'firearm part' for at least the past 8-10 years.
As such it may not be carried on.
15 years ago (+/-) you could carry them on.
