Possible new purchase - Impact Warthog?

Howdy folks!

I've been thinking about looking for a new fixed blade for a while now, to be used as a general backpacking/camp knife. I'll want it for any campsite duties, help getting fires ready, very low-scale improvised shelter building, bear fights, anaconda fights and of course cutting my summer sausage.

My general fixed blade is usually a ka-bar. Do those with the Warthog find that it performs well enough over the ka-bar to be worth the cost? Any general problems with the blade in general (fragility, handlng, etc)?

Thoughts and experiences are appreciated!

Here's a custom Impact Warthog with tactical lanyard.

It's good for a variety of campsite duties including garbage disposal, weed removal, shelter building (as long as the shelter you were interested in is shallow burrow) and fights with all sorts of things. At the very least you can run away while the anaconda is eating it. I don't know about cutting sausage but a warthog makes great sausage. You're probably out of luck with the fire-building thing.

I've found Imact Warthogs to be worth the cost. They outperform Ka-bars for almost everything and aren't terribly fragile. Handling your warthog is alright as long as the warthog is fully grown and agrees in the context of a mutually supportive relationship. :neener:

Tellner, I hate you. Want to know why? Because I studied that picture until I strained my eyes looking for a knife propped against your prize kill. Then I managed to see that the lanyard was not the sheath my keen eyes had envisioned. Not cool. Just kidding. But not really. Seriously, good burn.

Glad you like the Impact. I'm going to carry the question over to bladeforums and see if they kick me out for asking a question that's been asked a hundred times.

Umm, I was talking about the warthog that grunts, roots and lives on the savannah ;)
