I bought some 200gr. JFP's and I can't seem to get any good load info for them. Does anyone load FP? I have Unique, Titegroup, and Bullseye. Thanks in advance.

I run 200 gr LRNFP with 4 grains of clays. Its my favorite load for 45 acp.

I'm using 200 grain plated Rainer's over 8 grains of AA#5 and I'm very happy with it. I'm not sure if you're looking for a target load or something a bit more stout. These are nice because they hit to same POI as the 230 gr Hornady XTP's that I shoot as well.

I use 6.5 gr of Unique but you should work up to it gradually because it's a full power load.

If those bullets are plated you can use lead data, but if truely jacketed then you need to use jacketed only data. Kinda hard to help people when they don't specify what caliber, or brand of bullets.

Ah ha, Grasshopper. Now that we know the bullets and caliber, it's much easier to make a suggestion. I like 5.5 grains of Winchester 231 for jacketed bullets in this weight. It's not a hot load, but it's accurate in all my .45's.

A Speer or Sierra reloading manual would be handy about now. Unfortunately they do'nt give out data on the net, that I can find. Knowing the COL will be important, as this will effect load density. You could try E-mailing Speer and Sierra ? at least to get the COL. Hopefully someone with the appropriate manuals will post soon.

200 Gr. Ranier SWC over 5.7 Grs. of either W-231 or AA#2 or 8.7 Grs. AA#5 @ 1.260.

200 Gr. Hornady FMJ-CT will work as well and is a bit more accurate.

5.5 Grs. W-231 under any 230 Gr. bullet. I like AA#2 better now but cannot remember the amount.(5.4 I think, start low)

Experimenting with N320 right now. Shows much promise.

Loads are safe in my guns with my load procedure. Reduce 10% to start.

I am out of W-231 so I can pick some up tomorrow as well as some AA#2. I appreciate the assistance. It would be nice if I did have something other than the Hornaday books.

Treebeard, I would try loading some light loads with the powders you have, I would start with ;

Alliant's Bullseye, 5.3 grn . Hodgdon's Titegroup, 4.8grns. Alliant's Unique 5.8 grns. all with standard large primers I prefer CCI , Federal and Winchester. These loads are Light, and may not cycle the action of your pistol , I would load 8 of each to see.

I went out today and I could not get any AA#5 or AA#2. I will wait until next week to go out and get it. Meanwhile, I will try some of the suggested loads by jibjab. Titegroup seems a little dirty to me, but maybe that is just how it burns.

I use 5.5 gr of W231 also with Rainer 200gr flap points for my Kimber. You have to work with the OAL a bit for feeding though. I seat mine to 1.210. Below that and they won't feed in the Kimber or Springfield.

Threadjack , I've had a little trouble with getting some Accura 200grn swc plated, to feed in my 70's ser Gov .45, I wound up with 6.3 grns Unique with a COL of 1.240 and all seems fine , but I don't think my gun likes this bullet profile :(

I loaded up some Sierra 200gr. FP's last night with 5.5 grains of Unique. I did 20 rounds and did the COL different on each set of 5.

I shot some of the FP's using 5.6 grains of Bullseye and it was a good load; nice crisp shots with good accuracy.
