I picked up a Blued S&W Model 19-5 today, and was curious as to its actual worth, It is blued with a 4" barrel, has adjustable sights, and is in approximately 98% condition.
Also, what does the -5 in the model number mean???

Greeting's 4Truck-
And the book say's:
NIB $400 EXC $325 VG $250 GOOD $185 FAIR $150 POOR $100*
The S&W model 19-5 came on the scene in 1982; and
the -5 indicates the following changes in design:
a) Eliminate cylinder counter bore and pinned barrel
b) Small change in cylinder length to 1.62"
Hope this answers your question's~!
