Holster wear?

Do the forward cocking serrations on anyones 1911's tear up the insides of your leather holsters? My Springfield seems to have very sharp serrations and I want to know if they will eat leather or not and if a kydex would be better.

The edges of the gun will smooth the inside of the holster out, but not wear through. Cheap nylon holsters will wear through.

The holster will wear a bit, so will the gun. Gives both a bit of character. :)
