Can any of you please give me your thoughts on this weapon? I am considering getting one but would like to hear from any one who may have one or have shot one.

I think the .40 is a terrific pistol and extraordinarily reliable. A lot of folks complain about the long heavy trigger pull. It doesn't bother me. It's a safe gun, it's reliable, and it can be fired quickly and accurately if you practice.
I'm going to pick the same gun with the long slide too.
If the 9mm is anything like the .40 it's a good gun to own.

There's been alot of talk about the 24/7 on the autoloader forum here so I'd do a quick search and read til your hearts content.
BTW, welcome aboard!

the 24/7 is a interesting weapon. first off, it is Taurus, so it is lifetime guarnantee. secondly it has the second double pull trigger. That is, if you are firing, and suddenly you get a click, you can just repull the trigger, it goes into double action mode automatically. so you try to fire again, in case you had a slip round. If it still doesn't fire , you can either pull the trigger again, or rack the slide, and eject, and re-pull.
If i rrww, this was pistol of the year for either 2004 or 2005.

I love the feel of the grip on it...

Excellent gun, inexpensive, lifetime warranty, very ergonomic, very reliable. Holsters and accessories are a bit uncommon.

I've owned one for a few months now and have over 1,000 rounds through it. It has swallowed all types of ammo I have fed it, mostly 115gr and 124gr JHP and FMJs. I've used WWB, UMC JHP, Golden Sabers, Hornday TAP XTP, American Eagle, Sellier & Bellot, and CCI Blazer Aluminum. I have had NO problems with it. It has gone bang every single time I've pulled the trigger. This is my first gun and it has been good to me. It won out over the CZ 75 Compact since my fiance preferred the grip on the 24/7 (we both have relatively small hands). It has an external safety and an internal lock. It holds 17+1 rounds and mags are a bit pricey at about $30 each. Field stripping and reassembly is VERY easy and requires no tools. I clean it after every range trip, or about every 150 rounds or so. I won't comment on accuracy since I'm new and I'm sure my inexperience is the dominant factor right now, not the weapon. Mine has a 4" stainless barrel and looks pretty sharp, IMO. Other shooters have said it has a long trigger pull but other than that they said it shot "pretty well, especially for a Taurus." I paid $388 + tax for mine, or $100 less than the CZ 75 Compact we also looked at.
I am very have with my 24/7 Pro 9mm and would certainly consider another one, or any other Taurus for that matter.

I went to Houston to the Gun Show at the George R. Brown, looking for a set of grips for my Redhawk. I have been wanting a 9mm for plinking and general fun shooting. I ran across a new PT-24/7 Pro at one of the tables for $359.00 and felt that I needed to take it home. I have several other Taurus' that have worked flawlessly for me, I am hoping this one will do the same. I love the fact that it came with two 17 round mags.

I am considering getting a 24/7 in .45 myself. Might be my next gun. Hear a lot of good things.

I have a Taurus 24/7 in .45 and I love shooting it. The gun is very comfortable to hold and has a really nice soft rubber grip in the 9mm/.40 versions. There were allot of complaints about FTF's in the .45 version in older s. From what I have heard this problem was a magazine design issue and has been fixed. I have the apparently newer version magazines and have not had one jam or FTF yet. Time will tell though. The .40 and 9mm versions are supposed to be excellent though. You definitely can't beat the price and the lifetime warranty.

The Taurus 24/7 is like a moving target. Taurus doesn't sell the 24/7 any more, just the 24/7 Pro, the longer barrel version, the compact version and now a titanium version. If you find one that you like, buy it because like cameras and electronics, the market changes with the seasons.
As for the gun itself, I got taken in by one of Taurus' ads. I looked at the gun and without firing it, I was sold. I bought the 9mm Pro version and discovered I had purchased the best autoloader ever, at any price. It is light, stable, feels good to hold, makes my shooting results much, much better than with any other gun I have held. The warranty and the fact that it is a Taurus, is icing on the cake. Although I prefer the 9mm round, if I found one in .45 at the right price, the gun will be mine.
As for accessories, you will not be buying an Edsel. The popularity and performance of this weapon will have aftermarket folks tripping over each other to capture the sales.

pretty much what has been said... i own a 24/7 pro da/sa with ss slide in 9mm.
over a thousand rounds through that gun with not a single failure to feed, eject or ignite. also, the "ribber grip" is awesome..this was the first firearm i purchased ever, and i tried and felt at least a dozen different guns at a large gun shop before deciding...this gun is so comfortabe in your hand it's amazing....that's the good ..here's the bad.
only issue i have is not with the gun, but with taurus's customer service. i damaged the small plastic slide cap in the back while cleaning the gun. completely my fault. taurus initially was nice enough to send me the part for free. however it was twice as long and did not fit the gun at all...taurus customer service kept telling me it was the right part and that i needed to expect "small tolerance issues" . well that's not what it was..the part used to be flush with the back of the slide; the new one sticks out by about half a centimeter, so it's obviously not for this gun.
i tried again and they sent me another wrong part- same one, just as long.
when i called for the third time, they looked my name up in the computer, saw they had sent me two parts and insisted that they would no longer try. basically told me it was my fault not theirs...folks if you saw this gun with that part you'd laugh...it sticks out ridiculously...
so...to sum things up..i really like this gun. i know that these days, taurus makes some fine firearms. but their customer service is unacceptable to me.

I have the 24/7 in .40 cal. and it is a great pistol. I also have the .40 cal. mill pro. another good pistol. but I bought a FNP-40 now one has to go so the 24/7 is up for sale. Keeping the mill pro. due to small size and easy to carry.

I have two 24/7 Pro's .40's. In a word it is an awesome gun! I have thousands of rounds through both gun's, no problems with FTF, FTE , jams, or anything of that nature. Just recently I had a couple of rounds of Winchester white box 165 FMJ that did not fire on the first strike. The gun reverted to double action and they both fired on the second strike. Never had to jack the slide, just give the trigger a second pull-it was Great! The grip is really nice, and they rapid fire very smoothly. You have the lifetime warranty and the great price, you just cannot go wrong.
The Best to you and Yours!
PS- Almost forgot-Welcome to THR!

Surprisingly good gun! I wasn't expecting much out of it; it's a Taurus after all, and it's plastic. But she wanted it so she got it. I am amazed every time I shoot it how good it is.
