There's a fellow who has written a few books about real life stories of people who have used handguns to successfully defend themselves with. Trouble is, I can't remember his name. I want to say Waters or Walters or something like that, but I can't find him on the Internet.

Anyone have an idea who I'm talking about?

Thanks!

Yer right. Robert A Waters wrote a couple of books on self defense using handguns, etc.

That would be Robert A. Waters. Just do a search under his name on Amazon and you will find several books he was written discussing real-life self defense uses of firearms.

Yes, thank you!

I thought he had a website. Hope he still has.

another set of books on the subject is by Masaad Ayoob. In particular I like the stories he does on real life incidents in "AMERICAN HANDGUNNER" as well as the book he wrote of those stories.

ROTFLMAO !!! :D Now THAT'S Funny, Unisaw !!!

I heard they had to cancel the plans to put a Nativity Scene out on the White House lawn because in all of Washington D. C. they couldn't come up with three wise men or a virgin.:uhoh:

I don't know if you'll be interested in this but American Rifleman magazine has on online archive of their submissions to "The Armed Citizen":
During the decades the American Rifleman has published “The Armed Citizen” column, thousands of incidents of law-abiding Americans using firearms to halt or prevent crime have appeared in the magazine ... This archive contains “Armed Citizen” entries from the present back to 1958. The database is searchable by key word and state and results are displayed in chronological order according to the month of publication in the American Rifleman.

Find it here: NRA-ILA Armed Citizen (http://www.nraila.org/ArmedCitizen/Default.aspx)

Shawnee,

I can't claim authorship and don't know who first said it. But, it works for me!

I asked for self-defense stories in this forum about a year ago and obviously didn't get many replies. But in that age-old thread, someone pointed me to GlockTalk.com and the forums at AR15.com. You can find many, many first-hand accounts of self defense shooting there.

Then there's Clayton Cramer's Civilian Gun Self-Defense Blog. (http://www.claytoncramer.com/gundefenseblog/blogger.html)

Not stories. Out-takes and links to news stories on the web of the use of guns in self-defense.
