I picked up another CZ. I already had a 452 Trainer (similar to a Lux, but with beech stock) - I had heard about the Ultra Lux models, but hadn't wanted one bad enough to special order. I was actually shopping for a .223 bolt action when I spotted this CZ with an exceptionally long barrel. I knew I had to have it. $219 plus tax and it was mine. The story is that these were made as training rifles for the United Arab Emirates. Somehow there were too many and the rest were shipped to CZ-USA. It has a long 28.5" barrel, gold trigger, rubber buttpad and a little different stock than the trainer. It is finished in a reddish tint. The stock has a cheek rest that the trainer model didn't have.

This thing SHOOTS. The only scope I had on hand was an old Bushnell Banner .22 scope 4X. It actually works well since the rear ladder sight is still on. I plan on getting taller rings and a better scope. The Harris bipod is the 1A2 Model H which will go from 13"-23" this works well for me on a bench or sitting. Mostly I shoot on my own property and sitting is a comfortable position and gets me up above the weeds. Best group from 40 yards was about 1/2" with Wolf Target ammo. I haven't played with the trigger yet. It is adjustable and a guy named Brookie sells spring kits on the CZ Forum (http://www.czforum.com) I think I will get some and try to make the trigger better. The bipod isn't as solid as I thought it would be, I haven't used one before. It it MUCH easier than holding it free hand though. Overall worth the $60 for the bipod.

Here is a closer shot of the stock from the other side. It shows the cheek swell which is unique to this model. Wood is OK, but I can't wait to get another CZ with a walnut stock.

Got one of these a few months ago -- just loved the extra long bbl.

But I have not put a scope on it -- the iron sights on this thing are very good, and I like to shoot with the irons every once in a while.

I have the American model that has a scope, so I just switch between the two depending on the type of shooting I want to do.

A guy showed up at the range with one with the same action but with a walnut Mannlicher stock. That was a beautiful weapon. I bet it shot well but the guy was teaching his young daughter so couldn't tell. Bet with a good shot it would group. Nice iron sights!
