From the Evergreen Aviation Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. It's worth every penny for the admission. All of the birds in the hangar are restored to flying condition.

Thanks Boats.
Nice Pics. When I moved to Bakersfield, CA in 1989 they had an airshow called "Warbirds". It was a bunch of WWII planes. They had P-40's, Grumman Hellcats, several P-51's and a really neat B-29. Best air show I've seen in a long time. Expensive work keeping these treasures flying.

NICE!
Those are two of my favorite planes...that and the B-17 (Granpappy Kinsman flew 'em in europe in the early '40s). Talk about a fun way to deliver ordnance!
I have heard good stuff about that museum....I'm gonna be in Tillamook this summer. I'll have to make a trip to McMinnville.

If you're going to be in Tillamook, you should go check out Oceanside, OR.
A beautiful town.I think I've decided I'm going to retire there.

Yup, the Oregon Oceanside is better than the PRK one by a long shot.
My family has owned a cabin on the coast since GranPappy came back. It's in Rockaway, north of Tillamook by 20 miles or so. Maybe I'll see ya at th' museum.....I'll be the one with drool on his chin and a .45 on my hip.

Boats, do they have a Lockheed P-38 Lightning in that museum?
If so, I might have to go check it out. :)

That's the tail section of a P-38 just to the left of the Warhawk in the first pic.
Hey Boats, got a good pic of that?

Loved the museum, but missed out on a newly restored P-47 that should be there this year. You hafta see the Grumman Avenger. The size of this thing doesn't come out in any photo I've seen. It's enormous! They have a total wreck of a P-39 there that is ages away from restoration.
Where abouts is Mcminnville? I'm going back this August and would like to check it out.
On the way back we stopped for lunch at Pelican Brewing right on the beach in some little town. Had a great lunch and a Tsumani Stout that was unforgetable.

Mac (If you want to sound like local) is on Hwy 99 between Portland and Lincoln City. The museum is on the Hwy 18 Bypass around Mac. (See, I'm a local) and right across Hwy 18 from the airport.
FYI, If you come in August, they should have their new (to them) SR-71 put back together.

Can't wait to get back to your lovely state. Like many Californio's I lust for a homeland free of idiots.
Saw a Blackbird in Seattle seven years ago. A real beaut. Some guy at the museum told me that they leaked Jetfuel by the gallon when in the hanger and only tightened up when the heat at altitude sealed the gaps in the tanks. Was he yanking my chain?

No. He wasn't "yanking your chain." ;)
