For a forum where the consitution is always a top priority, our trigger-happy admins love to keep their thumb on the LOCKED thread button. Its usually inappropriate and it happens too much. Thanks Big Brother! Please write a note to them if you feel the same way. As this thread will be locked and Im sure I am close to being banned for wanting to talk about things and issues that are important to me.

List your favorite locked threads.

How can a private entity be guilty of breaking the Bill of Rights?????????? (Hint: The Bill of Rights protects us from GOVERNMENT intrusion into our rights.)

It's their place. They can ask you to stop talking about something, or to leave for talking about something if they want. I might have a 1st amendment right to say I don't like someone, but I'm in that guys house, he can tell me to shut up or to get out of his house if I keep saying it. I think moderation here can be heavy handed, but their place, their call.

Gun-related content?

There are many gun forums available that allow more flaming, baiting, heated discussions, incessant arguments, pointless displays of machismo, blood boiling brow beating, ooga ooga chest thumping and rooster crowing at will.

If that is what you enjoy, then it is best to go to another forum rather than single handedly trying to change a more mature forum that many people enjoy because of the lack of those very qualities.

If you have any beef with the moderation here, it is customary to PM the moderator in question. If you feel too oppressed and inadequate to do so, Oleg (http://www.thehighroad.org/member.php?u=1) is always a good listener.

On the flip side of that, I see that the threads you have cited contain none of the qualities I've listed. Most of the threads had a pretty good run. Feel free to PM the mods concerned. I'm sure you will get a better response that way.

Part of the problem, I guess, comes from becoming part of a community of people whose opinions you respect on a subject. You then, naturally want to discuss other subjects with them. I know what you mean. Perhaps it would be a good thing to have a forum for this, but how you are going about asking for it is not the way to accomplish it. Comprende'?
