I saw this add in the local wantad:

Are they semi-auto guns?

Title I "Uzis" were imported in the early 80s from Israel and the PRC. They were closed bolt carbines capable of semiauto only (hence Title I) because of the SSA of '68.

After the attempt on Raygun, they were THE "coolgun" to have so the Walters could play Secret Service. Still around in decent shape.

I don't know what kind that one is in the picture, but at a local store here I've seen some full-auto Mac 11's that you can still buy for about $1,500.

I think you could have a FA one for about $2500 IIRC...might as well save up another $700 and get that one instead.

Well, I'm not interested in buying it. I just thought it was so "evil looking" that it must have been banned.

That's a picture of a 16" barrel carbine, not full auto. I don't believe that they are worth that much, but could be wrong.

Essentially, the gun is banned, but only because of the folding stock and the imported parts. That aside, there is little functional difference between that and a Ruger PC9. Just a 9mm carbine.

I think you can still by a similar gun from Vector for about $1200.

Yep. Totally legal. The "pre-ban" carbine came with a fake plastic "short" barrel so you can make it look like the full-auto version when displaying it.

I think most select fire Uzi conversions are going for >$5000. I screwed around back when I first bought my semi-Uzi and never had it converted. :banghead:

Vector still advertises new postban legal Uzi .45 carbines. Can you even FIND Uzi .45 mags? If so I just might be interested. I do love the scary evil guns, you know.

Vector had been selling alot of full auto Uzis for around $3200. They had a large quantity of transferrable receivers that they have been building up and selling over the years or something. Still see them adveratized for around there alot. I think J&G Sales has at least one in their newest add for around $3500. Once they dry up the price will shoot up... I've been thinking they'd be the way to go to get into class3, more "substantial" gun than the full auto Mac10s/M11s and still close to affordable...
