So i was calling around to the various gun and pawn shops and one of them said they had an, and i quote" old russian m-76" they went on to say it didnt have any iron sights and had a scope mount on it. They also mentioned that it has something like a 22 inch barrel. Its a bolt action also.

Anyone know what it is?

Perhaps you should just go see it for yourself?

Oh no my friend, you see when im buying something it is hardly worth anything in fact im doing the person a favor by buying it.

But when ive bought it, its value is increased hundredfold, almost as if my touch alone has brought out the inner worth. Its kinda beautiful to see really....

:p i cant continue that without laughing:D

What would the worth of a Zatava be anyway????

Although I was being overly optimistic in stating that it might be a Yugo after the $80 price tag...

An M76 will run you oh... I dunno, $800 if you're lucky? :neener:

I really doubt it is too but hey its xmas and its late. Dreaming of getting a great deal on something makes me happy.:)

Since there was a neener next to $800 im thinking thats not true.

Frankly im hoping for the $50 dollar AR15, the $75 desert Eagle and the 2 for $40 '59 Les Paul and '51 Broadcaster.

If thats the case im maxing out credit cards:D

The M76 was an assault gun, given the name Suka by the Russians.

Maybe they have an AFV! :D

Actually, it was SU-76 and not M76, as 76 denoted caliber (76mm / 3") instead of the year of adoption or model number.

Well this is the moment you've all been waiting for, i looked at the gun and......?

I have no idea what it is. Its not a Nagant, its not a Zastava, its not a Mauser as far as i know..

What it is, is a shorter,22"? maybe, bolt action that doesnt have a mark besides a serial number and .58? on the mag baseplate. It does have the classic Mauser magazine, but it doesnt have the safety im familiar with. When you open the bolt the magazine when empty the follower holds the bolt open. It also has a stepped barrel with it being thinner towards the muzzle?

So anyone know what it is?

Actually the M76 RECIEVER is worth around $800. You could then buy the parts kit for around $1000.

To my knowledge, M76's are very rare in the US, and sadly, even though some new Zastava arms are coming into the country, I remember reading that the M76 will not be imported.
