Just got out of Cabela's (of all places) I'm of the opinion I did O'k for a change.
Slightly used GP100 blue 6in Bbl with original box, sights and all of the paperwork to go with it. B-Square Scope Rail and a BSA RD 30 red dot scope. $426.00 out the door.
What do you think?
I was the guy who was going to order a Taurus 66 6in Bbl for $350.00
I know what a good price on a new GP100 161 is so I'm happy.:D :D

You did pretty good, it's definitely an upgrade over the Taurus.

Now get cracking and start dry firing the crap out of the gun. You'll learn trigger control and smooth out the trigger too.

Congrats,

Steve

Nice find! I just got a 4in GP100 yesterday; hopefully I can get out and shoot it today.

Mine was $289 with only a tiny scratch on the side, and not much of a drag line:)

I will say that the trigger is stiff as can be compared to my other wheelies though, how is you trigger?. Hopefully mine will smooth out.

Someone always has to pee in your cherrios. :D Awesome find.

I'd have the trigger worked over on a Ruger if you don't wanna mess with it yourself. Ruger over does the springs on the things, they always err on the side of beefy. And, smoothing the trigger isn't a hard job along with some wolf springs.

The GP100s are rugged to the max, probably the strongest DA this side of a Redhawk. I like a lighter gun for carry, but they make great range guns, outdoor carry revolvers, home defense, etc, etc and excellent revolvers to learn on what with the heft.

and I like it a lot. Still having a little trouble with target acquisition/reacquisition. However, it has a nice trigger (and my comparison is a S&W Model 19).
Have fun.
