of UNDER-EXAGERATION! DRJONES (take 2 aspirin...??) What do you mean GREAT? This stuff is not great -- It's FANTASTIC!

Was reading TAO of GUN... got so excited... couldn't wait to read other 2 to reply. Just excellent stuff!

Now that I've calmed down a bit, back to the other 2 items.

Thank you for posting this material.

You are welcome! Are you new to us, or did you follow us from TFL?

I have MUCH other stuff to share, if you like.

I think it would be cool if we all shared our favorite links. (Gun-related, of course! ;) )

Here's another interesting one:

I followed from TFL but was kinda new there. I'm just starting to post, really. Sort of new to this, but I lurked for years at various sites.

I've said this before and I don't want to be a one-note-Johnny, but I have still not gotten used to the sheer wit and quality of the posters and their posts. I keep hearing, in the back of my head, the anti's mocking us 2nd amendment types as Neanderthals, as contrasted to themselves and liberals generally, who are themselves so "aware". This is probably the penance I pay for having been on their side for the first half of my life. It's good that I love irony and paradox or I'd probably go nuts.

Will now read the other 2 items and your new one and, for sure, please do share your treasure with us. I will do what I can to reciprocate.

Maybe we can help to turn the tide (there I go getting all unrealistically excited, again, right?)?

Dude, I'm totally with you!!! Tamara sticks out in my mind as having an incredibly razor-sharp wit!!! :D

You HAVE to read this: http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=50062

Tam's is the second reply. Her remarks are in bold. I was absolutely in hysterics reading that reply!!! :D

This one by lendringser is fantastic as well: http://www.thefiringline.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=34976

More to follow when I get home....

2nd piece. Ann Coulter can sure write, can't she?

I keep getting crazy thoughts, like why can't we have our own mini-network, or mini studio for TV and movies so we can impact the sheeple like the socialists do? Yeah, I know, not economically viable, not practical, just dreaming... yadda, yadda, yadda.

Actually, though, why not, really?

We have the talent, some write, some can make movies (like JPFO) and don't underestimate humor. There are some very funny people on this forum alone. There's a reason why laughing at the King is outlawed, you know.

More dreaming, I gues.

OK, now to the next piece.

Drjones,

Tamara's wit glints in the sun -- and lendringser's Declaration is marvelous -- he may be a tad less famous -- but why can't I rank him, in terms of eloquence, with the founding fathers?? Can anyone tell me why not?

There is some overlap in our interests, I think, DRjones, and I've seen the last 2 items (not Tamara or Lendringser's) before, but re-reading stuff like that is good for the soul. I bet you "get mail" from a few libertarian forums, don't you?

Thanks again and muchos gracias und Dankeshein,

Matis

I think the answer to your question is, at least IMO, that people don't read much anymore.

What I mean is, the ultra left liberals seem to have film and tv angle sewed up pretty tight. And we all know how the news media works. That leaves us with the written word, and, as I said, folks just don'r read as much as they used to.

The left understands people better than the right. They understood, long ago, the impact things like fim and tv would have on people. They understood that most people live in a very small world, to put it simply - most folks don't know a lot about a lot of things. People today get there "knowledge" of things, outside their normal world, from movies and tv. Why do you think so many movies and tv shows are "anti gun" and pro "social pity"? It's because the left knows, as people grow older, the things they've seen there will be the things they believe are fact. Look at the young folks of today, most believe "something" we know to be not true, just because they "saw" it somewhere. They believe in "rights" that never were, they believe they are "due" things they aren't, and they think conservatives believe in things they don't. They believe all people are created equal from birth until death, instead of that all people are created equal and then it's up to them to make the most of it in life. Most, not all, believe the government, or "somebody" owes them not just a chance, not just a life, but a certain "lifestyle". And that EVERYONE is "owed" that lifestyle, not just the ones who earn it.

All this because they have "seen" it to be true, for many years. If a teacher "teaches" it, if a movie star "acts" it, if a tv star "preaches" it, if a rap singer "raps" it and if a rock singer "sings" it, then it all must be true. All we can do is write about it. We can "communicate" the things we believe in, and stand for, by the written word or by word of mouth.

Just kind of hard to do these days.

Guys, you are all very welcome, and I am so thrilled that you enjoyed them so much!!!

That is the most beautiful thing about the internet: the HUGE amount of information we can spread so quickly and easily.

Question: Should I start a new thread for people to post fav. links, or what?

That said, here are a few more: :D

Riiiiiiiight, the police WILL save you, honey....

Did you know that the ONLY crime ever committed with a legally owned fully-automatic weapon was by a POLICE OFFICER?

Drjones, there was a second crime committed with a NFA weapon, by a police officer. I believe it happened on the east coast, gun was an MP5 IIRC.
