Howdy,

I'm getting an older New Model Blackhawk convertible soon and was wondering if there is a weight difference between the older ones and the newer ones.

The one I will be getting was purchased new in 1979 and it seems to be lighter than the range rental "anniversary" NMB conv.

Is there a difference or am I just imagining things?

The older blued New Model Blackhawks had aluminum alloy grip frames and ejector housings. The 50th Anniversary guns, to my knowledge, have steel grip frames and ejector housings. I gave 2 of the .357's top my wife, and they are also better made than the standard NMBH.
