so i just picked up my brand new XD 40!
i'm pleased with the overall quality of this pistol. i like the fit, the internal extractor, chamber indicator and cocked indicator. quality of the polymer receiver is excellent, very fitly trimmed with no apparent jagged edges (cant say the same of my hk). the seam of magazines are inside while the outside is polish, making it looks like a one piece metal.
very good value for the money. going to a range thursday to try it out! comments..

Own an XD 357 Sig and love it. I'd like to see it offered in 10mm or .45 auto, but the gun I have shoots and feels great. I like the added features and the accuracy of the pistol. I'm probably going to buy a bitone in the near future.

Yeah, I went to shooter's paradise. The neigborhood made me wish I had more than just my 22/45 on me... ;) The range was pretty meh, too. I rented their taurus p92 (the only non-glock auto they had), but I only ended up putting one box through it. It had, by far, the worst SA trigerpull I've ever experienced. It almost gave me nightmares! I'd like to checkout the ventura range, but I don't get off work until 6, which kinda cuts into my range time. :mad: Do you know what time the ventura range closes?

yeah that area is the ghetto. just make sure you do not make a wrong turn on your way to the range. (i'm not kidding)
ventura range closes at 5. i believe they open at 9.

i put it in order like:

gun 1 cost >>> gun 2 cost > gun 3 cost (notice the use of extra > :D ) and for the caliber from bigger to smaller 45 > 40 > 9.

Heh. I actually did make a wrong turn on the way to the range. I figured it out after a while, but it sure made me wish I wasn't legally transporting. Unfortunately, even if I come in early, the earliest I can get off work is 5, maybe 4:30. That leaves me with few options for weekday shooting... :(

don't use fiocchi 170gr though, it seems it doesn't feed well while it works with others well.

Glad you like your gun...I shot one the other day ....very nice.
The Fiochi jamming your gun is very strange...I used to shoot the 170 gr regularly in my Kahr which has a steaper feedramp than the XD...no problems.
Its hotter because its loaded to nato specs...if its loaded in Italy instead of in the US, that is. Anyway......enjoy.
