Hi guys,

Does anyone have a 1911 disassenbly and reassembly manual in electronic form they are willing to share?

I see surplusrifle.com has one available for download but the link is not working.

Not sure if that is a puchase download or not. If it is, I will email them to purchase a copy.

Thanks

MIke

Try the search feature on this forum (see it in the green bar at the top of your screen). 1911tuner posted a full text description to detail strip the pistol. You can download it for free. :)

This is for a series II kimber, but most of the stuff is the same. The sereis II just has a few extra parts compared to a 1911 without the firing pin safety.

I learned to take my first 1911 apart and put it back together the same way I leared how to take cars apart and put them back together. I just did it. Thankfully, the 1911 is much simpler than an automible, and has remained pretty much the same for almost 100 years.

Old Fuff- My search yielded many hits but (0) zero results. I will continue my search later as time permits. If you have the link to the thread that would be greatly appreciated.

Zach- This is a great start. Unfortunately, I have yet to own a 1911 to play with.

I shot my first 1911 many years ago and loved it but never got around to buying one. Now that I have twin boys it's been even more difficult to find the funds for a 1911.

Well last weekend I went shooting with my cousin and uncle and they brought a 1911 from Argentina. It felt and shot great. They told me these were relatively cheap by comparison, $300.00 or thereabouts? So I asked them to locate one for me. Well apparently they found one and I will be going to look at it next week.

Anything specific I should look for or know?

Thanks

Mike

Sorry about that. I should have posted links in the first place, but I was pushed for time. Follow these in the order given.
