I'm looking for 8 round 1911 magazines with the extended floorplate as shown in this picture from Kimber's site. I would assume the one in the pic to be the Kimpro Tac Mag, but the Kimber site shows them to be sold out. Obviously, reliablilty is my first concern for a magazine, and I really want a source for 8 rounders, which I know has been covered ad nauseum here. I'm new to 1911's, so excuse what I'm sure is an elementary question.

Can anyone recommend a good 8 round mag with the floorplate as shown, or an interchangeable one like the Kimpro Tac comes with?

Second question: If I can find these mags, are the Kimpro mags good, or are there better mags out there that have what I'm looking for?

The search won't work with the term "8" as it's only one character. The other searches I did didn't come up with what I'm looking for.

That is a plain jane bumper pad that could be attached to many different mags.
The Kim Pro Tac mags are pretty good mags as well as the ACT / Novak, Wilson(variable length bumber pads, Chip McCormick( variable length bumper pads), There are others. Folks will spell em all out, I'm sure. :)

Thanks for the help, Walkalong. I've heard of the Novak's, too. Maybe I'll check them out.
