Ive read alot in the past day or so on the Helwan 9mm and I have to say that it seems about split on a consensus of the weapon and approval. One thing that has seemed to matter alot and make a big difference is who imported the particular batch of Helwans. Those that were imported with one importer seemed to be alot more prone to problems and weakness than the Helwans imported by another importer. I have also heard that earlier models were better than more modern ones. This leads me to my question. The one I picked up today was imported by " N.A. Ridgefield, NJ " It has the Egyptian script on the slide. I have not heard of any other Helwans imported from this importer in NJ. Does anyone have any information on these and when possibly they were imported? I stripped it in the store and looked it over good for peening and such in the structure and did not detect any so far. Thanks
Thanks atblis must have had Mayonaise on my mind , However, bring out the best.

Ever tried mayo on fries? It really isn't that bad. Mix some mayo and ketchup. Yummy.

Seriously though, I don't know of other Helwans imported by Navy Arms. I don't believe it's their usual fare. As for when it was imported though, they themselves would probably best be able to help you out with that and other info.
Navy Arms Company
Phone 800 669-6289; 201 945-2500
Fax 201 945-6859
Mail Navy Arms Company, 689 Bergen Blvd, Ridgefield, NJ 07657 USA
I don't think they are the same Navy Arms Company represented on navyarms.com, but I'm not sure about that. The info mentioned above though is definitely that of your importer though.

The N.A. would be Navy Arms, no longer in business in NJ. The only info I can give you is Navy Arms has a decent reputation and I've never had any problem with milsurps I purchased from them.

Oh, I wasn't aware they were no longer in business, perhaps that info I provided is a bit dated in that case...
