I need to know the model # for a s&w revolver so I can find parts for it. The serial # is v106398, it is a .38 special with a 3 inch barrel.

If you open the cylinder, you should see the model number stamped on the frame.

If the serial number starts with a V, then you have a WWII Victory Model with a barrel cut down from 4 to 3 inchs. Are you measureing from the inside of the cylinder ( rear of the barrel)? The Victory model is a S&W M&P, Pre-Model 10.
