Title says it all - finally got the little blaster off of layaway yesterday, and now it's home, sniffing butts with my "full-size" K40.

I do have a question, if anybody knows the answer for sure: This gun, Serial # HA17XX, should be a relatively early-production gun - I think I have a Massad Ayoob article where he mentions his own personal MK40's #, and it was within just a few digits of mine IIRC. However, according to the little "spent-case" envelope(for Massachusetts sales) this gun was test-fired at the factory in August, 2006. There is also a stamped letter "U" on the left side of the gun, at the junction of the triggerguard and frame.

Does the "U" denote a used/factory-reconditioned gun, perhaps a sales demonstrator or gun-writer T&E sample?

Thanks in advance for your responses!
