Need help with light strikes on a 28-2

I'm having problems with my 28-2 not reliably setting off the primers when shooting single action. I only shoot factory ammo, and it's happened with a couple different brands, including Federal and Winchester. It doesn't happen every time, but near the end of a long shooting session last weekend I had two light strikes in one cylinder of six and a third light strike in the next cylinder. They all went off when I hit them again on DA.

The gun is well-worn, but up till now has been reliable and accurate. I'm NOT going to try to fix this myself since I'm not very mechincally inclined and don't want to mess up my revolver.

If I do have to send it in somewhere, I've considered getting it reblued at the same as the old finish is pretty worn.

Any suggestions? Would S&W work on a gun this old? Any other smiths you'd reccomend, especially ones that could do a nice reblue? Any idea on what I should expect to pay?

Thanks

Rob

I bet 99% of all revolver malfunctions are caused by congealed oil, grease, grime, crud, lint and assorted other material accummulated in the action.

If not more.
