Found a used Beretta 71 .22LR at a local Gander Mountain today. It points and feels great to me, so I had it put on hold. What do you guys have to say about this model? How hard are replacement parts to come by? Are there any issues with any ammo with this gun? Should I pass on this item or jump on it for $140?

Happy New Year

I've got one in .22 also, a nice little pistol for plinking. It's kind of an in between gun, too big to be a pocket gun, and not quite big enough to be a targt gun. None the less I really like mine and shoot it quite a bit. Part's are difficult to find, but Numrich occasionally has them . I haven't had any feeding problems with mine but limit it to standard velocity ammo.

At $140 it's a good deal assuming it functions and the finish is reasonable.

A friend of mine has one. I've only shot it a few times but it seems like a nice little auto. His has had a lot of rds through it with no problems. $140 doesn't sound bad at all to me.

I've had one since 1968 and can't remember it not shooting what ever I put in it.. This gun was a favorite by the Mosad as a "dirty job" weapon. Partly because it was so reliable. It came is two series, I. has a button for a safety (as mine does) and II. came with a lever type safety. It's a great pointer and shooter. If in good condition I would buy it..
Be safe.

Check out these pictures mine is post#4, the one I'd love to have is post #5:)

Wow I'm having a hard time coming up with much information on this model. If you do decide to buy it (ok, when you decide :) ), a range report would be appreciated!

Seems like it's nearly identical to the Beretta 74, but lacks adj. sights and has a different grip length.

Looks like a good price, if you don't go for it let me know.

:what: Grab it for $140! Heck of a price & it's about the best mid sized 22lr pistol ever made. Finding factory mags can be a problem, but the Triple K 22lr mags that fit it seem to work.
