Happy New Year to everyone,

Spent a few hours Saturday at the big gunshow in Houston. I went in, not really looking for anything in particular, possibly a new holster for one of my guns, or a new set of grips.....but after looking around, ended up picking up a 9mm for plinking when with my son and his new CZ75D Compact. I found a Taurus 24/7 in 9mm, new for $359.00. I have owned several and still own two Taurus firearms that have worked flawlessly. I hope this one follows suit.

Anyone else end the new year with a new gun???

Anyone else end the new year with a new gun???

I nearly bought a new 1911 on both New Years eve afternoon and New Years day.

I really don't need it (that's what I tell myself over and over) but my desire in not rational. Owning 1911's is not a fully rational proposition to my modern and frugal mind. But I crave a new one anyway.

I only was able to stop myself by remembering that my Visa bill with all the Christmas spending on it will come soon and all the checks yet written for my two kids in college. Big fat checks!. I could by a top-o-the-line custom 1911 with the dollars I spend at the start of every college semester.

However, my kids educations will be paying off for them long after I'm gone and all those wished for dream guns have been traded away.

I did buy a set of Hogue grips for a S&W auto I have. $20. That will hold me for a while..............I hope :uhoh:

I was there Saturday, picked up a KelTec SU16C and a Springfield XD9. Then went and shot them Sunday morning.

I have a Stag AR lower ready for pick up as of 12/30/06 but I didn't have the time to pick it up :( As for a handgun, I picked up my CBOB about 4 weeks ago.

Was that the one at the AJC Sports table?? Andrew had one there and I picked it up and looked at it.
