I saw that CDNN has new orange speedfeed I buttstocks for $19.99. I want to get one and save big $ (a new black one is around $70). But I don't want orange.

Has anyone painted one of these, and if so, what worked and what didn't? It doesn't have to be pretty, or crazy durable. I'm thinking some flat black Krylon. Any other options?

Use Alumahide II from Brownells. It's a great product, but
takes a week plus to dry.
Being it's plastic,I'd clean it 3-4 times with a good cleaner
(de-greaser)before spraying it.
Another option would be "truck bed liner",it's @ $4.00 at Wally
world.
Post a pic when your done.

yea that textured truck bed liner is good stuff, be sure to rough it up though. I've never used it on a real firearm, but I coated my ultra-shiny reflective multi-colored paintball gun with it, and it's seen alot of action. Much more wear than any of my firearms have seen. I'll still never understand why paintball guns are so damn shiny.

Use truck bed liner, as posted, or use Krylon Fusion, which does a pretty danged good job on plastics in my experience.

Plan B would be to dye it (tricky), or any old epoxy finish like Duracoat should make short work of it.

I have a black one if you would like it. It came on my 870p. I used it for a while and just dont care for it. Send me a pm if you are interested. I will bring my camera home from work and take some pics if you would like.

Seen it done before to an HK USC. Works unbelieveably well. :)

I'd also have to recommend the truck bed liner, though. As long as it's not too rough (thusly scraping up your face) it's pretty durable stuff, and easy to do.
