Does anyone know of a company that offers laminated stocks for Remington 870? I know their are the current factory stocks but I'm looking for a diffrent patterns. I've found plenty of places that offer replacement wood but not laminated.

Wenig (http://www.wenig.com/lam_birch.html) makes lots of stocks for lots of guns. I'd be surprised if they didn't have something for you.

Boyd's makes a couple, including a thumbhole style. Decent quality and price.

Resistance to warping due to heat and humidity, and usually resistance to absorbing water.

Is this a big deal on a pump shotgun, vs. a bolt-action rifle?

If you want a foul-weather (or fowl weather) gun but can't stand the icky feel and poor balance of a plastic stock on your shotgun, laminate offers the weight and feel of wood without the downsides.

I think that laminate offers even more for the rifle shooter who wants wood feel combined with sub-MOA accuracy, but it's certainly not a bad thing on a shotgun, especially for the waterfowl hunter who likes a shotgun that feels like a shotgun.:)

I find it to be very durrable on my rifles, good density/feel. I'd like to try it on a shotgun.

Wenig has more laminate options, and more stock design options, than you can shake a stick at. Custom fit, as well. Excellent products. I don't have any of their work, but I know people who do and have tried their shotguns.

Boyd's might shape you something more generic for less cash.
